Welcome to the reincarnation of haymee.com, updated with interesting stuff a bit more often.

I'm quite proud of the new, unified design of the haymee.com you are looking at now. After loading the homepage into your browser, you shouldn't need to click more than three times to access any area, and navigation and a sense of where you are on the site should be obvious - well that's the plan anyway.

I'm sorry it's taking such a long time to populate all the sections. Absolutely loads of material is written in draft, and just needs a bit of tidying and then posting, so check back frequently. Several people have asked where all the galleries are from the old site; I wasn't very happy with the organisation of the photos, or of the layout of the gallery pages, so that is taking a bit of time. Please be patient.

I'm trying to use the whole experience of designing and updating this website as a way of learning new techniques. I'm not an advanced site designer by any means, and actually I quite like a simple approach as I think it usually causes fewer problems (which is why I'm not using frames any more). Well, that's my excuse for not knowing much! However, I do want to learn more over time, particularly about SQL databases, and other ways of updating the site remotely, and of interacting with it. If you have any ideas of ways in which I could improve haymee.com, please let me know, as I'd really appreciate input from as many people as possible.

I want this new version of my site to feature interactivity. Hmm.... I think what I mean is that I want users or viewers or browsers (or whoever you are) to interact with this site and with me and with each other. At the moment there are some ways to do this (e.g. the by-line pages, and a new guestbook and possibly a 'friends & family' forum under contact), and I want to develop more. I have ideas...
